On Sunday afternoon Ben and I set off on 3 laps around Welwyn Garden City, including an extended section up to Tesco's in Hatfield. Half way round it was time for my first ever Lucozade Carbo Gel, which Ben assured me was like Rocket Fuel for about an hour! Sure enough, straight away the syrup type mixture hit the spot, unfortunately it had also covered my t-shirt (sorry no pic!) in the process!
The 3rd lap was tough for sure, going from our longest run of 13.1 miles to 21 was a big jump but had to be done with 7 weeks to go. We made it round in 3 hr 5 mins, which was pretty respectable for a first attempt we think! We're going for a second attempt in a couple of weeks time!
