Blitzing the Berko Half!

Today was the first race in preparation for the big one in April. Before the race we were hoping for a sub 2 hour time which took into account the hilly terrain of the Chilterns. We had heard the course was pretty tough!

We were glad to see that there was no rain/snow/sleet and the skies were blue, but temps were low. We positioned ourselves optimistically at the 1hr 45min marker at the start. The course was undulating with hills at 3, 5 and 11 miles, but passed through some cracking scenery.

Close to the finish we realised a 1hr 50 was doable, and strode out to the finish (picture above - us in the finishing straight!) and made a 1hr 49 time. See here for the results page.

Here's a piccie of us proudly showing off our medals.. (from right to left: Ben, me, Gary and James (future runner!).

Something also worth mentioning is that Claire and I have moved into our new house in Old Welwyn.
